"Sam Goodwill's aptly titled release Stampede was recently made available to eager ears and it does not disappoint. Their lyrics are well crafted and soulful, their melodies a tapestry in a house built out of rhythm. With a sound like Minus The Bear, the rhythms akin to the Dismemberment Plan and fired in the furnace of mid-'90s rock, Sam Goodwill have trampled my heart. They are the band that I want to be in."

3 "Black Country Rock" – 3:32
4 "After All" – 3:51
5 "Running Gun Blues" – 3:11

7 "She Shook Me Cold" – 4:13
8 "The Man Who Sold the World" – 3:55
9 "The Supermen" – 3:38

from wikipedia
"Much of the album had a distinct heavy metal edge that stands it apart from Bowie's other releases, and has been compared to contemporary acts such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. The record also provided some unusual musical detours, such as the title track's use of Latin sounds to hold the melody. The sonic heaviness of the album was matched by the subject matter, which included insanity ("All the Madmen"), children with powers beyond their parents' understanding ("After All"), gun-toting assassins and Vietnam War commentary ("Running Gun Blues"), omniscient computers ("Saviour Machine") and Lovecraftian Elder Gods ("The Supermen"). The album has also been seen as reflecting the influence of such figures as Aleister Crowley, Franz Kafka and Friedrich Nietzsche."

Song of the day: Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley
[Note: Change "hxxp" to "http"]

I love this song, because it makes me feel good about myself. It reminds me of who I was, and who I am. "I was your silver lining, but now I'm gold." :)

Some music for you to download. I've sorted this by album and then posted a sample song or two so you can see whether or not you'd like to download the full thing. I don't want to bombard this community, so if you want more, feel free to take from my blog.
